We are very excited to announce our first Community Course for Spanish learners! The course will combine online lessons, assignments, projects, peer practice, and language exchange to deliver what we believe to be the ultimate and optimal language learning experience. Moreover, in the spirit of Langroops, participation fees will be almost completely donation based!
When?
September 6th - November 24th (3 months)
Tuesdays and Thursdays
5PM - 7PM EST
Who?
Anyone who wants to learn Spanish.
The course will be for Beginners (A1 or early A2 level)
MAX 20 students. First come first serve.
How does it work?
The course will use a “backwards classroom” method to maximize learning efficiency. This means you will learn through assignments and materials at home while lesson time will be mostly utilized for reviewing, questions, and practice.
The course will focus first and foremost on verbal communication - listening, understanding, and speaking. Reading and writing will be incorporated as well in a practical manner.
Each of the two weekly lessons will be broken up into:
1 hour - lesson with a professional teacher.
0.5 - 1 hour - peer practice or language exchange.
(Starting from the second month, language exchange sessions are contingent on interest of native Spanish speakers).
There will be periodical exams to measure progress.
Cost?
There is a $10 application fee to reserve a spot and $20 deposit when the course begins.
When you complete the course (80% attendance) you can decide if you would like the deposit back or you wish to make a donation to our cause. (The donation can be any amount - more or less than the deposit).
Langroops is a non-profit organization. Money donated to Langroops helps us fund more awesome projects like this one!
If you cannot afford the application fee we can waive it under certain circumstances.
Please fill complete the registration here if you are interested.

A word from our teacher:
Hey there! My name is Tláloc. I come from Tecomán, a city in the state of Colima, Mexico. My interest in different cultures has led me to the teaching and learning of languages, and to digital nomadism worldwide. I’ve taught both English & Spanish for 14+ years. I hold a B.A. in language teaching and an M.A. degree in English language and cultures awarded by the University of Colima and the University of Guadalajara, respectively. I’m deeply committed to strengthening my students’ interactive communication skills, raising cultural awareness, and promoting critical thinking.
