Siyi Fan

I'm originally from a small Muslim neighbourhood in southwest Beijing but I've spent my entire life moving and travelling across five different countries. I’m fluent in 3 languages that I learned by living among native speakers, mastering local dialects, and immersing myself in their cultures.

Currently I work as a healthcare interpreter and a private language teacher while studying linguistics at the University of Toronto (UofT) and applying for grad school. I’ve received my training in interpreting at Seneca College. I'm also certified in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Prior to that, I studied Middle Eastern languages at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and biology at UofT.

雙語環境下長大的北京回民，曾在五個國家生活過，在中東與北美留過學。現居多倫多，從事醫療口譯與語言教學工作，同時在多倫多大學進修語言學，準備考研。100%的語言學習狂熱症重度患者。
